The Saintly Bible

The Authorized Version of 1611 is the ONLY Protestant Bible Version that retains the word “SAINT” in the title of the four gospels. Viz. Saint Matthew, Saint Mark, Saint Luke, Saint John, and Saint John the Divine (Revelation). The word ‘saint’ means ‘a called out one or a holy one’.

Now the Scriptures are called “the holy scriptures” (Romans 1:2; 2 Timothy 3:15). So you tell me which Bible sounds more holy: a KJV that retains the word “saint” or the modern versions that remove the word altogether from the titles of these books? (Hint: this is an easy question!)

When you open a Gideons 1968 AKJV New Testament the first page of the Biblical text reads “THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO SAINT MATTHEW”. But when you open a Gideons 1985 NKJV New Testament the first page of the biblical text reads “THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MATTHEW”. (Note: the word “saint” is out!) These two New Testaments look identical on the outside: but inside one is holy; and the other is unholy! As a matter of fact, the word “testament” can’t even be found in the NKJV! Therefore, it is an unofficial New Testament!
